Rocket Partners is looking for a lead Cloud/Java architect to lead an in-place client project team of over a dozen engineers. You must be hands on and passionate about solving complex Cloud (AWS) solutions for a variety of clients. In this role you will direct the innovation and direction of complex technical solutions. The success of this position is measured through delivered results and client satisfaction and account growth.
You will be joining a lean team that is in growth mode. You must have excellent leadership and communication skills for complex problem solving with clients and managing internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide authoritative technical leadership and management for multiple concurrent development schedules for multiple clients
- Solicit client requirements, create detailed technical architectures to satisfy the requirements, create detailed technical backlogs and sprint schedules, and recruit for train and lead all technical aspects of development for on time on target delivery
- You will be focused on direction, architecture and hands-on coding daily
Requirements:
You must have demonstrated client and internal leadership abilities across multiple projects that delivered net new products, platforms and capabilities according to client requirements.
Up and down the tech stack, this is a hands-on position that requires passion and curiosity. You must have architect level understanding and senior developer level experience with the majority of the following:
- Amazon Container Service or Kubernetes
- Serverless architectures including Lambda
- CloudFormation or Terraform
- AWS Networking including NLB/ALB and security configurations
- Streaming architectures with AWS Firehose or other.
- Pub/sub architectures with SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ, Kafka or other
- DynamoDB
- Elasticsearch
- Aurora / MySQL
- Redshift or to other column store EDW platforms
- CloudWatch
- Java – 7+ years, current daily use language
- SQL – 7+ years and current daily experience
- Full stack experience with React or Angular (Node projects in the future)
- Client services / consulting experience
- Able to communicate with confidence and credibility to high level client executives
- Able to establish and maintain development processes and standards
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, follow through and growth
- Kindness, patience, clear communication and a 100% lean in attitude under pressure are always required.
Nice to Have:
- Retail technology experience including POS integration, inventory management, and loyalty program design.
