Space Shop Self Storage gets natural-language access to its own business

A fast-growing operator scaling toward 100 locations came to Rocket with five systems that would not talk to each other. Rocket is building a single Azure data foundation with plain-English access for the people who run the business.

The problem

Space Shop Self Storage is scaling toward 100 locations across nine states, and came to Rocket with five systems that would not talk to each other: SiteLink, Yardi, Prorize, CallRail, and Jotform. Each one holds a real piece of the business. Facility operations in one place, financials in another, revenue management, call tracking, and forms in three more.

Growth makes that fragmentation expensive. Every question that spans two systems becomes somebody's spreadsheet, and the people responsible for running stores, districts, and third-party client portfolios end up waiting on reports instead of asking the business what is going on.

What Rocket is building

After a Discovery and Scoping engagement, Rocket is now building a single Azure data foundation for operational analytics.

On top of that foundation sits role-based access control and MCP-powered querying through Claude Desktop, so leadership, district managers, and third-party management clients can ask the business a question in plain English and get an answer, with row-level security enforced at the database layer. The right people see the right stores, and nobody sees more than their role allows.

The roadmap

The roadmap runs in phases:

  • Lead conversion lift. Connect marketing spend, call activity, and move-ins so the funnel can be tuned store by store.
  • Revenue leakage recovery. Surface the gaps between what should be billed and what is collected.
  • In-house intelligence. Replace expensive third-party tools with answers from the operator's own data.

The engagement is in flight. Rocket is proud to be building the data foundation behind Space Shop's next phase of growth.
